Nick Martin is a local artist who trained at Edinburgh college of Art. He became artist in residence at Brighton Royal Pavillion in 1983. In his career he has always concentrated on figurative work and portraits. While in Brighton he made 3 very successful collages of the seafront which are still on sale today. His latest work is a continuation of that theme. Nick has also taught throughout his working life at Brighton University, Roehampton University privately and at various schools. He is currently teaching online. He moved to the Island in 2006 and now runs the foundation course at Quay Arts and teaches life drawing there. He has exhibited portraits at the Royal Soceity of portrait painters and also exhibits regularly at Quay Arts.
